Bullet Proof Coffee Mocha or High Fat Coffee Mocha

I have been drinking this bullet proof coffee and it has helped me loose weight..around 13 kgs or 28 pounds. Weight loss is just one of the benefits. Other benefit includes:

  • No caffeine crash – when you drink tea or coffee in the morning after 2-3 hours you feel a crash and you need to get another one
  • Not feeling sleepy in the afternoon
  • No hunger pangs – Just drink coffee and tea and you will need to have a humongous breakfast – When I was at my heaviest I used to eat a huge breakfast …Following was my breakfast at 10 am…even eating all this i will start feeling hungry in the afternoon:
    • 4 eggs with veggies
    • pork sauage
    • followed by cold coffee (Nescafe/Starbucks hot chocolate/sugar/Nescafe) – this used to be a really sweet coffee –
      • and whats coffee without cookies…so I will have atleast half a pack of cookies

Here is how I make my cacao version of bullet proof coffee

Bullet Proof Coffee Mocha or High Fat Coffee Mocha

  • 1 tablespoon of Kerry gold grass fed unsalted butter – I started with using ghee from India and I always used to have upset stomach so I switched to grass fed butter but you can also use Ghee (try making sure its grass fed rather than grain fed)
    • NOTE: You can not use any butter especially the ones you get in grocery store …stick to either grass fed or organic butter or pure ghee.
  • 1 tablespoon of coconut oil – start with 1/2 tablespoon and then build your tolerance to 1.5 tablespoon. I use have used these two coconut oils.
  • Organic whole bean coffee – For first two months I just to put instant Nescafe and it worked fine too. I recently bought a small coffee maker and grinder so now I can grind my own organic coffee beans and make coffee.
  • 1 Tea spoon Cacao power (optional) – this is optional just to make it look and taste more mocha!
  • One piece of 90%, 85% or 70% Lindt chocolate – Again it increases the chocolate content and make it a little sweeter. Note start with 70% dark chocolate and build it up to 90%!
  • 1/2 table spoon raw honey – you do not want to put too much …if you are using 70% Lindt then dial this down
  • 100-200 ml hot water – I use 200 ml hot water with instant Nescafe or 100 ml hot water with 100 ml of black coffee
  • Just blend it in a strong blender for 30 secs and you are done with your breakfast! I use this Oster all metal drive blender

Bullet Proof Coffee MochaNow you might think all of the above is too time consuming – it is not… I make my BP coffee everyday in 5 mins. Some tips:

  • When you start your coffee maker start your hot water kettle also
  • Grind coffee beans for two weeks ahead so it is easy and quick to make coffee
  • One you start doing this everyday – first day it might take 10-20 mins but soon you will also start making it in 5 mins of less once it gets into your daily morning routine

Don’t get me wrong I do not mean to say that once you start drinking BP coffee you are guaranteed to loose weight because it all depends on how much you are eating and exercising. What I am claiming and I have experienced with myself is that if you drink BP coffee as breakfast and just that and nothing else before 1/2 PM you are sure to feel all the benefits and loose weight.

Also I would suggest that if you have good quality coconut oil and butter you do not need everything else with the exact same quality or brands you can use substitutes for a while until you are ready to take up BP coffee lifestyle. For example:

  • You can use regular honey or sugar instead of raw honey
  • You can put Nescafe instant coffee instead of organic coffee
  • You can use any local cheaper dark chocolate until you graduate to using lindt. I keep experimenting with different dark chocolates for example, Ghirardelli dark chocolate is a good substitute too!
